"United We Build"
Elex (which is Latin for "Electric") began in 1916 as a Women's basketball team. When the basketball team disbanded, some of the team members formed a GE Employees Girls' Club. The initial purpose of the club was: to promote social and educational activities, to foster the spirit of friendly service and to stand for the highest ideals of womanhood. Their club flower was a rose, pink and blue were the colors, and the slogan was “United We Build” and there you have it.
